| Lake Superior
is surrounded by Ontario and Minnesota to the north and
Wisconsin and Michigan in the south and is the largest
of the Great Lakes. It is the world's second largest
lake, and the world's largest freshwater lake.
Lake Superior has a surface area over 31,500 square miles
and a maximum depth of 1,335 feet. Lake Superior
features many scenic areas including: The Apostle
Islands, Isle Royale National Park, Lake Superior
Provincial Park, Grand Island National Recreation Area
and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
Water comes into Superior from over 300
streams and rivers and exits into Lake Huron via the St.
Mary's River. About 90% of Lake Superior's shoreline
is forested and relatively uninhabited.

Lake Superior is also known as a
great Salmon and Trout fishery. Chinook Salmon,
Coho Salmon and Pink Salmon are all abundant in Lake
Superior. Trout
fishing on Lake Superior is also strong for Rainbow
Trout, Brown Trout, Steelhead Trout and Lake Trout.
